2010 ISLE OF MAN TOUR
The band left York at 10 PM on Friday the 4th of June
and travelled to Heysham for the 3PM ferry to the i.o. Man, when we
arrived at the port we were already tired, but knowing that we had
a three and a half journey ahead of us without seats forced us to
recline in the ships bar! which turned out to be OK for the trip,
by this time it was Saturday, the 5th of June, and we were due to
play the first gig that night ,bummer ! Still, thats what we
had gone for so carried on regardless of the fatigue that we were now
feeling. First move was to head for the campsite and get the tent up so
at least we could collapse after the gig, and a few beers of course.
Anyway, first gig saturday the 5th of June. This was playing on
the beach at Port Erin on a large stage that had been put up for the
week. We were the first band to try out the structure and it faced
the pub which was good, people lined the sea wall and a great night was
had by all. For some reason it was called the swagelok stage ,must
have something to do with the freezing fog that rolled in later that
night causing me to loose site of Milo and Gregg, who I knew were
somewhere about. Great beach, fabulous bay, great people. Next up the
bar logo in Ramsey, no gig double booked by prick of a manager who
had left the pub and told no one we were coming, but after a few words
with the owner we were offered free drinks which
obviously accepted and proceded to drink the band fee inn
equivolent in lager. Back at the campsite that evening we got a call
from the bar logo asking us to go back and play as the other band had
cancelled! no can do, full of lager. Next up was Bushys tent on
the front in Douglas. We were supported by Danglee Bitz, another 3
piece who played all the normal stuff which we thought was good. They
played from 8 till 10. We came on and played 10 till 12 and had a ball
as you can see by the pics on this site. Have to say hello to all who
watched the gig, it was a great night! The gig was streamed live
on Bushys own site to all on broadband who were wathching, especially
the folks back home, there were as many outside the tent as in,
and the tent was full. Everybody had a great time and
we got free T-shirts, ha!, but alas... no free beer, we will
try again for that in 2011. Tuesday's gig was at a great pub on the
quay called The British Hotel. Set up was easy in the afternoon with
the gig at night: great audience, great time, would like to say Thanks
to all who came. Wednesday and Thursday were taken up wathching the
racing totally mad, great riders and great bikes and more beer,
lovely, last gig of all was the Highwayman in Peel, great place. The
crowd arrived later rather than sooner, but still a good gig, easy
entry and set up with a great landlord, back next year. Saurday was
spent in the pub and sorting out more gigs for 2011. We want to say
many thanks to the Glenlough farm campsite, gigging there in 2011
so won't have far to go home, ha ha! Great site, well worth a
visit. Cheers and also would like to thank Lenny Conroy at Triskel
Promotions for having the faith to book us for gigs, and of course,
thanks to everyone else who booked us for the gigs, we had a ball,
see you all in 2011. Cheers
THE SPORTSMAN HALIFAX
Superb night had by all.great gig and a really good set
o folks enjoying themselves with the band.milo surpassed himself with a
set of excellent solos, greggs drummin was cosmic and al on bass was
just normally excellent ha ha!!! .started off dodgy with al
sat watching heartbeat thinkin the gig was sat not fri nite, after a
frantic text from milo al got in touch with gregg and all made the
gig.only casualty of the nite was al.s jacket spud left in the oven
which by the time he got to it at 2.am looked remarkably like a
meteorite !!.still many thanks to jane for looking after us and we are
looking forward to returning for our other gig there in this great
little pub.big thanx to kate for looking after gregg, many thanx to
zoe for all the support, and many thanks to jean for the meteorite
in our oven.
ROYAL OAK YORK
Great night, lots of people in the place, loads of new faces who have now become fans of the bands music. Thanks to Geof Locker for all the help with the sound, always nice to have a guy with a good ear and a love of music (being a great drummer himself, although we are not sure if that qualifies him to be a sound engineer or just a sound guy !!!) only kidding mate, the sound was brill after a few alterations in the sound check, and as the man will tell you a beer always helps!.Many thanks to Jane the lovely landlady who is in charge of this fine establishment, and the bar staff who did a great job making sure things ran smoothly over the evening. milo drew a crowd doing his bit on the guitar laid on the floor and was followed by some fans who laid on the floor with playing air guitar, all good stuff while Gregg on drums and Al on bass have seen it all before and carried on as normal. The everlasting set of ac/dc, led zep, zz top, pink floyd, sabbath, bad co, free idol, lizzy, kinks and more ac/dc just keeps getting bigger and better.looking forward to march 21st for the rematch, so get to The Oak and have a great nite with the band.
THE RED LION - YORK
A great gig.this hopefully was one of many at this superb city center pub, the band played on a raised area under cover of a marque just incase of the dodgy weather, it all kicked off at 4pm on the sunday afternoon, the place was packed, people were standing outside the place enjoying the band. Grub was on all day and went well with the beer. Split into two sets the band played out classics such as jailbreak, paranoid, the wall, lots o rock from zz top to led zep, the reaction from the crowd was amazing and a great day was add by all. Have to say thanks to Tony and Julie, who run the pub, for creating something special in the center of York for everyone to have a good time.

Again a brill session with the towns folk of Beverly, give em some rock and they love it. Many thanks to the lovely ladies behind the bar and the fabulous crowd, live music is alive and kicking in this town. Strange set up for the band looking at a wall only 10ft away it really plays havoc with the sound but it was sorted in the end and everybody had a great night. We are looking forward to returning to the pub for another super session. Spot on.
THE SHAY HOTEL
Great night, fantastic people. The band played late just couldn't get off 'cause the crowd wanted more. did his famous laying on his back playing routine thru a great version of AC/Daces Fireball, then it was followed up by brilliant versions of black night, paranoid, Rosie, rock n roll and a whole shitload of great rock songs from a band that really know how to rock. Best wishes to Unya, Pete & Mick from Halifax. Look for the fireballrock.co.uk site being rebuilt with new features coming soon.
ROSIE'o'GRADY'S WHITBY
What a night, packed house with rock fans, which helps if your a rock band. Started the gig at 9.30 pm and finished at 12.30. Thanks to the landlady and landlord for a fantastic night. Played 3 sets of the finest rock covers inc ac/dc, Sabbath, Floyd, pistols, Lizzy, zz top, Greenday, free, bad co, zepplin and a whole shitload more of the good stuff. Superb drum solo by Gregg brought the house down.milo was his usual brilliant self, at one point jumping up and down outside the place never missing a note, unreal !
